As a community museum, the St. Marys Museum has ten display areas open to the public, all containing artifacts associated with the history of this area. Throughout the year, there is a schedule of changing displays and activities, based on the collection.

Animalia

Animals and humans have been intricately linked together for thousands of years. From companionship, working, or food sources, deep bonds have been formed between people and animals for millennia. For all of St. Marys’ history, animals have been living and working alongside humans, helping make our lives easier. Learn all about the connections between humans and animals.

Painting the Past: Artists of St. Marys

Explore the biographies of several prominent St. Marys artists while enjoying their works from the Museum's collection.

Service Above Self: 100 Years of Rotary Club of St. Marys

The Rotary Club of St. Marys celebrating its 100th anniversary in May, 2025. This exhibit shares the history of Rotary from its founding in Chicago in 1905 to present day.

Behind the Battlefield: War on the Home Front

Located in the Richard Holt Military Gallery, this exhibit focuses on the war effort in St. Marys, highlight the contributions that St. Marys and area residents made from the home front. This exhibit is on display until November 2025.

Medical Maladies

From arsenic as a cancer treatment to cocaine drops for a toothache, this exhibit explores the wild and wacky history of medicine. 

Permanent Exhibits

Visit the Children's Discovery Room for hands-on learning and play in a recreated classroom! A rotation of toys, games, dress-up costumes, and crafts are always out to keep young visitors engaged.

An outbuildings contains a display of farm implements and early methods of transportation.
